Susan Purney-Mark – Screen Printing  for Quilters

2 day – Saturday and Sunday                                                                Beginners+    Create unique and imaginative designs for fabric and learn the fundamentals of simple     screen printing.  Students have the opportunity to use both fabric paints and thickened dyes with simple screens in their work and discover how easy it can be to use these techniques for their own creative paths in quilting and design.  Kit fee. Do Your Own Thing Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday The common rooms in our dorms and some classrooms will be available for you to set up your sewing machine and lamp so you can work on your own projects.   The Max Bell stage can be used for pinning small/large quilts.

1 day –    Friday                                                        Beginners+                                                                                                         Photographs and fabric provide are a great combination to explore in this class.  Learn about printing images onto different fabrics using a variety of products and an inkjet printer.  Using cotton and sheer fabrics, along with layering large and small images, students will create a small are piece that can be finished, embellished and quilted.
